Beit Morasha Press

Beit Morasha Press publishes the academic writing of faculty and students of ‎Robert M. Beren College as well as the curricular units and educational kits ‎developed by Beit Morasha’s Center for Jewish Identity and Culture. This ‎department of Beit Morasha is also home to the Akdamot Journal of Jewish ‎Thought, a challenging and critical academic journal of Jewish studies and ‎Jewish culture.

Published in cooperation with some of Israel’s largest publishing houses, the ‎academic publications of Beit Morasha Press focus on Jewish law, Jewish ‎thought, and Jewish ethics, stressing the historical, philosophical, and societal ‎contexts in which traditional texts were written and emphasizing their meaning ‎and relevance for the modern world. Publications of Beit Morasha Press also ‎explore the relationship between Jewish values and democratic values in the ‎contemporary State of Israel.

Beit Morasha Press is currently headed by Chayuta Deutsch, a well-known Israeli ‎journalist hand columnist. The editor of the literary review of the Hazofeh ‎newspaper and of the weekly Torah portion bulletin of Kolech - The Religious ‎Women’s Forum, Chayuta Deutsch formerly served as the assistant editor of the Nekuda ‎journal and as the editor of the Otiyot children’s magazine. She herself is a ‎graduate of Beren College's Moshe Green Beit Midrash for Women’s Leadership, ‎where she added the study of Talmudic texts to her many literary talents.‎

Plans are currently underway to partner with one of Israel’s leading English ‎language publishing houses in order to make some of the most acclaimed ‎publications of Beit Morasha Press available to the English-speaking public.‎
